Martin Green, the Head of Ceremonies for the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games (LOCOG), will be the keynote speaker in Nottingham next week at Culture Club 2010, as the East Midlands reviews progress with the four-year Cultural Olympiad. Green will talk about the Opening Ceremony for the London 2012 Olympic Games, following the recent announcement of Danny Boyle as its Artistic Director, and about the plans for the other ceremonies, as well as the Torch Relays.

A fourth showcase of arts, heritage and media projects is being planned for the summer of 2011 in the East Midlands in the build-up to the 2012 Olympics and Paralympics Games.

Arts Council England today gave details of how it will implement the £19 million cut to its 2010/11 income from government, announced by the Department for Culture Media and Sport on 24 May.
